Christina May Bolin was recently named Co-Chair of the Property Insurance Section of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC). She is one of only three attorneys in the State of Alabama to have been invited and accepted into ACCC.
The American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC), established in 2012, is the preeminent association of U.S., Canadian, and Bermudan lawyers who represent the interests of insurers and policyholders. The ACCC’s mission is to advance the creative, ethical, and efficient resolution of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; to enhance the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law; to provide peer-reviewed scholarship; and to improve the relationships among the members of our profession.
The ACCC focuses on educating all sectors involved in the field of insurance law – including the judiciary, legal and insurance professionals, law students, and businesses – on cutting-edge, emerging, and critical issues such as developing trends in insurance law and bad faith, trial practice and alternative dispute resolution, policy formation and claims handling. To this end, the ACCC holds an annual meeting with two days of topical programming, publishes scholarly papers, presents an annual insurance law symposium at a US law school, and sponsors a writing competition with the aim of encouraging law students to pursue a career in the challenging field of insurance law.
The ACCC engages in a rigorous vetting process prior to inviting a lawyer to become a fellow. Our fellows include many of the most prominent members of the insurance law bar. We are proud that some of our fellows have been elevated to the judiciary.
Christina May Bolin leads Christian & Small’s Mobile/Baldwin County office – defending individuals, businesses, and insurers against lawsuits and liability claims, and assisting clients in the development of strategic solutions to legal disputes and litigation risks. Since 2001, she has defended property and casualty insurers in direct actions involving large property losses, catastrophic casualty claims, complex insurance coverage questions, fraud, and bad faith.
