Christian & Small ‘Champion Event Sponsor’ of Teach for America-Alabama’s 5th Anniversary Celebration

As a founding supporter of Teach for America-Alabama, Christian & Small was proud to be a Champion Event Sponsor of the organization's recent fifth-anniversary celebration. Community leaders, philanthropists, and corporate partners had the opportunity to mingle with Teach for America-Alabama teachers, new corps members, and students, and learned more about how Teach for America is making a difference in the lives of Alabama's children.
Teach for America-Alabama Executive Director Khadijah Abdullah's remarks documented how far the organization has come and how the state's students have excelled since the program's inception in 2010. Attendees also heard from Berucha Cintron, a student at Birmingham's P.D. Jackson-Olin, Teach for America National's Executive Vice President Omari Todd, and Blake Thompson, a second-year Teach for America-Alabama teacher at Francis Marion High School in Marion, Ala.
In the lead-up to this occasion, Teach for America-Alabama was featured in an al.com editorial column by Edward Bowser, and Abdullah also promoted the organization in a segment on ABC 33/40's "Talk of Alabama."
