Christian & Small Welcomes Ford Mozingo

Christian & Small LLP is pleased to announce that J. Ford Mozingo has joined the firm as an associate in its Birmingham, Alabama, office. Ford practices in various areas of litigation, with a primary focus on appellate, insurance, professional liability, product liability, and transportation law.

Ford earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2024 and was a member of the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society. He obtained his B.A. from the University of Alabama in 2021 and was named to the President’s List. He was also a member of the Honors College, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Mortar Board Honor Society, the Blue Key Honor Society, and the Order of Omega. Ford participated in community service projects, including teaching English to local Hispanic children as part of the university’s English as a Second Language Program. Before joining Christian & Small, Ford clerked for Justice Will Sellers of the Alabama Supreme Court. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and YMCA, where he serves on the Boys Work Committee and judges for the YMCA’s Alabama Youth in Government.

Growing up in Montgomery, Alabama, Ford was inspired to pursue law by his father, who is an attorney. Ford shared, “My dad and I would discuss what he had been doing at work at the dinner table, and I started to develop a fascination with the law, the concept of a court giving a final decision on what the law is, and how individual lawyers can directly shape the law. In high school and college, I would go with him to court and observe firsthand what attorneys actually do – it’s quite different than what you see on TV.”
