Christian & Small is pleased to announce that M. Jansen Voss has joined the firm as a partner focusing his practice on areas such as complex personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, as well as business disputes, breach of contract matters and general civil defense litigation.

Voss regularly represents mental health facilities, psychiatrists and psychologists with business matters, regulatory issues, risk management and lawsuits. His representation also includes doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals in medical malpractice lawsuits, handling matters before professional licensing boards – including the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners, Alabama Board of Nursing, and the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling. Additionally, he advises social service providers and nonprofits that include child care providers and churches, and represents insurance agents, brokers and carriers involved in lawsuits related to negligent failure to procure insurance, bad faith and coverage issues.
Voss is licensed to practice in Alabama and Mississippi and serves on the Alabama State Bar’s Future of the Profession Task Force and its Lawyer University Task Force. He earned his undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College, his MBA from the University of Alabama Manderson Graduate School of Business, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He is active in the Birmingham Bar Association, currently serving on its Mentor Program and is an alum of its Future Leaders Forum. His community involvement includes the Jefferson, Blount, St. Clair Mental Health Authority’s Board of Directors, where he sits on the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors for LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, and the Junior Board for PreSchool Partners.
