Monday, May 2, 2011 – Ken Simon taking pledges by phone during Friday night’s two hour telethon on ABC 33/40. More than $600,000 was raised for the American Red Cross response to Alabama tornado victims.
According to Ken, “The response from the community was amazing. I got calls from the elderly on fixed incomes, who just wanted to help; from those whose hearts were broken from the suffering of others; from many who gave all they could give, whether it was $20 or $1000; and from callers as far away as Ohio who just wanted to reach out to those in need.”
