Partner LaBella S. Alvis was recently honored by the National Diversity Council with one of its “Top 15 Business Women in Alabama” awards. She received this recognition during its inaugural Alabama Women’s Conference at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – The Wynfrey Hotel on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
During the luncheon, Alvis was one of three panelists, which included Kelly Powers, CFO of the Huntsville Hospital System, and Marquita Hicks, MD, Associate Professor of UAB’s Department of Emergency Medicine, speaking on the topic “Leaning In Without Tipping Over: Achieving Work + Life Balance.” Other program speakers included Melanie Maddox, VP and Career Foundations Program Manager at BBVA Compass, and Martha Underwood, Director of Solution Delivery and Operations at CallidusCloud.
Organized in 2012, the Alabama Diversity Council (ALDC) is committed to fostering a learning environment for organizations to grow and leverage their knowledge of diversity. According to its website, the ALDC is a great opportunity for professionals, students and organizations to learn diversity best practices from the top corporate leaders.
