Lois Medders, Accounting, and her husband, Tom, have never met a stranger. They routinely take in young people, here legally from other countries and with no family in the states. To quote Lois, “We find them without even looking for them. We listen to them, laugh and cry with them, and make sure they are properly cared for physically, socially, and spiritually.”
One such special person is Csilla, from Romania, and her six-year-old daughter, Emily. When Lois shared their story – many at Christian & Small jumped in to bring much needed cheer to this family. People signed up to purchase: toys, clothes, food, and a “big girl” bed for Emily. We were all touched to receive a hand written note from both Csilla and Emily – clearly we received the best gift of all.
