Christian & Small is thrilled to announce that Partner Sharon D. Stuart has been elected President-Elect of the Birmingham Bar Association. Sharon will assume the role of President in 2024. Sharon has held numerous leadership roles with the Birmingham Bar Association including the Executive Committee, Judicial Liaison Committee, Long Range Planning Committee, Civil Courts Procedures Committee, Public Service Committee Chair of the Ethics Committee, Grievance Committee – Young Lawyers Representative, Mentor for Young Lawyer Mentoring Program, and Mentor for Women’s Section.
Sharon stated, “The Birmingham Bar has been a vital part of my career by providing service opportunities, friendships, and the ability to work with and learn from other lawyers. I look forward to working with our Bar members and constituents to ensure we develop and expand the opportunities for service and professional growth for lawyers from all practice areas and across all types and sizes of firms.”
In addition to her practice, Sharon serves as President and Claims Counsel of Attorneys Insurance Mutual of the South, is a Member of the Samford University Board of Trustees and is active in the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
Sharon joins a long tradition of Christian & Small attorneys who have served as President of the Birmingham Bar Association including Bibb Allen, Thomas Christian, Edgar Elliott, Richard Ogle, and Clarence Small.
The Birmingham Bar Association works to support its members in their practices and to promote justice and public service.
