Sharon D. Stuart

The Birmingham Bar has been an important part of my career – providing wonderful service opportunities, as well as friendships developed through working with and learning from other lawyers.
Sharon Stuart, a founding partner of Christian & Small, handles complex commercial, insurance, and product liability litigation, and class actions. She is President and Claims Counsel of Attorneys Insurance Mutual of the South, Alabama’s bar-related malpractice insurer. Sharon graduated from Samford University and Cumberland School of Law. She served as Associate Editor of The Cumberland Law Review and was a member of the National Trial Advocacy Team. She served as the first law clerk for United States District Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn.

Sharon gives freely of her time and energy to strengthen our legal community through mentorship, education, fostering collegiality, and improving relations between the bench and bar. Her service includes:

Community Involvement
Sharon has worked to improve the greater community through service as a Trustee of Samford University, as Board Chair of M-Power Ministries, as a Board Member of the Literacy Council, as a member of the WBHM Radio Advisory Board, and as an Adult Sunday School Teacher at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
Honors and Recognition
Sharon has been honored as a legal and community leader by being named a Fellow of the Birmingham Bar Foundation, the American Bar Foundation, and the Alabama Law Foundation. Birmingham Business Journal featured her in 2017 “Women to Watch”. She is a graduate of Leadership Birmingham, Class of 2012.
