Partner Sharon D. Stuart served on the faculty of the 48th International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Annual Trial Academy held from July 30th to August 5th at Stanford University. The Trial Academy is one of the oldest and most respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills. The Trial Academy is a seven-day, intensive program that blends small group faculty instruction and demonstration with individual student participation. Trial Academy Faculty provide one-on-one guidance and constructive criticism that result in immediate and vast improvement in performance throughout the week. Sharon shared, “It is truly an honor to be asked to serve as faculty and I loved working alongside the other faculty members (called the “Mike Drops” in honor of Trial Academy Director, Mike Brown) and with very talented young lawyers to hone their trial skills.”
Sharon has a long and distinguished history with IADC. She is the recipient of the 2021 Joan Fullam Irick Award – Outstanding Committee Chair – for her role as Chair of the Insurance and Reinsurance Committee; currently serves on the CLE Committee; served on the 2022 Nominating Committee; served on the Annual Meeting Steering Committee, and is Vice-Chair of Communications for the Class Actions Committee.
