Christian & Small partner Jansen Voss has worked for six months with an exciting minority-owned tech start-up based in Birmingham, Alabama. Dippi, LLC is Alabama’s first alcohol delivery service and one of only a few companies in Alabama with an Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board delivery license.
In April 2021, the Alabama Legislature passed, and Governor Ivey signed, a bill allowing delivery of beer, wine, and liquor in Alabama. The law went into effect on October 1, 2021. With Jansen’s experience in state regulatory and administrative matters, Dippi engaged Jansen to assist it in obtaining one of the few delivery licenses issued by the ABC to date. He continues to assist Dippi with ongoing regulatory compliance and business strategy. Jansen and the entire Dippi team are preparing a response to the ABC’s Request for Proposals for alcohol delivery from ABC Select stores statewide. Dippi is evaluating strategic partnerships with angel investors and venture capital firms to help support its expansion of alcohol delivery in Alabama.

Of his experience working with Dippi, Jansen said: “It has been exciting to work with a group of young highly motivated visionary entrepreneurs focused on making alcohol delivery safe, and in the process, keeping alcohol out of the hands of minors. It is truly a pleasure and an honor to help bring their vision
to life.” Dippi Chief Executive Officer Rashad Grimes said, “Jansen was instrumental in creating a framework of safety and compliance for our drivers. It gives me a great sense of assurance to know that safety is a top concern for Dippi and that our drivers are well prepared.”
