The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC), is composed of recognized leaders in the legal community who have achieved professional distinction, is dedicated to promoting knowledge, fellowship, and professionalism of its members as they pursue the course of a balanced justice system and represent those in need of a defense in civil lawsuits.
FDCC membership is limited, selective, and by nomination only. Election is by the Board of Directors upon recommendation of an independent Admissions Committee charged with the responsibility of making a careful investigation into the qualifications of each nominee to insure that those selected have distinguished themselves professionally. Current membership is slightly over 1400 and includes members from each of the United States plus Australia, Canada, Europe, Puerto Rico, and other areas. A limit is placed upon the number of lawyers in private practice who can be members.
The Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel is based on three key principles:

  1. Knowledge – The FDCC offers its members an opportunity to expand their knowledge through the highest quality CLEs. Throughout the year, there are a variety of important programs, such as the Corporate Counsel Symposium and the Litigation Management College. In addition, the Leadership Institute is presented each year to train the next generation of leaders.
  2. Justice – Members of the FDCC strive to protect our system of Justice. Through participation in the Lawyers Civil Justice and the ABOTA Roundtable, members of the FDCC work with leadership of various bar associations, legal organizations and companies to ensure there truly is justice for all in our judicial system.
  3. Fellowship – Through involvement with the Federation, members develop friendships with colleagues that last a lifetime.
