Teach for America – Alabama
In the fall of 2010, Christian & Small made the decision to pool its resources and support one of local not-for-profit organization. After a great deal of research and consideration, the firm chose Teach For America – Alabama.
Teach For America is the national corps of top college graduates and professionals who commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity.

We support our community by giving our time and resources and encouraging our people to do the same. Here are just a few examples of our attorneys and staff and how they are Nonstop Advocates in their own communities.
Holiday Giving
In 2010, instead of sending a traditional gift such as wine or a gift basket, the firm gave a gift that’s true to our mission of being “Nonstop Advocates” for the community. A holiday card was designed and mailed to clients and each card contained a unique code. Clients were invited to visit a special website, where the code was entered directing a gift to one of the three charities. A financial donation was then made in the client’s name. Clients could check back often at NonstopAdvocates.com to see the progress. At the end of the campaign, Christian & Small and our clients made a significant impact on three organizations:
- 53 students were reached through Teach for America.
- 2 families of four were sent to Disney World through Make-A-Wish.
- 17,500 meals were provided through Feeding America.
The response was overwhelming and we are already at work on our 2011 Holiday Giving Campaign.
