Christian & Small’s annual Nonstop Advocates Holiday Giving Campaign is off to a great start! With its December 2 launch, the 2014 holiday giving campaign is once again focused on supporting educational non-profits making a difference in the lives of Alabama students – but this year’s campaign also features a twist. It will serve as the launch-pad for the firm’s inaugural Advocates for Education Volunteer Service Initiative in 2015. Here’s how it works:
twitterThrough Dec. 31, 2014, visit http://nonstopadvocates.com to learn more about four non-profits working to eliminate educational disparities in Alabama – Higher Achievement Summer School, Holy Family Cristo Rey High School, Restoration Academy and Teach for America-Alabama. We’ll also be featuring blog posts about the non-profits and their success stories, along with posts about how Christian & Small attorneys and staff members are serving our community.
This year, each non-profit has included the description of a volunteer service project they need help completing. Vote for the organization/ project that you would like to see Christian & Small help in 2015:

  • Higher Achievement Summer School – Attorneys and staff will host “Friday Fun Nights” for the students, giving them a break from their studies and providing their teachers with a night of rest and relaxation.
  • Holy Family Cristo Rey High School – Attorneys and staff will participate in a volunteer service project aimed at improving education for students and assisting teachers and administration.
  • Restoration Academy – Attorneys and staff will provide a traditional day of service that will involve tutoring sessions for students, maintenance and clean-up projects, and hosting a staff appreciation lunch.
  • Teach for America-Alabama – Attorneys and staff will host in-classroom visits with Teach for America-Alabama teachers across Birmingham that will focus on job skills, college choices and what it’s like to be a lawyer.

presentAll employees of Christian & Small – more than 60 attorneys and staff members – will provide volunteer service during our 2015 Advocates for Education Volunteer Service Initiative to the non-profit organization that receives the most votes during the 2014 Holiday Giving Campaign.
Voting continues through Dec. 31, 2014 on http://nonstopadvocates.com/, and you can vote once a day every day.
Christian & Small is proud to support these innovators who are defying the negative norms in Alabama’s education and empowering the next generation. We invite you to join us as we celebrate these initiatives in our state and encourage you to support education initiatives in your community.
