ADLA Social Media Panel__from KencropTwo Christian & Small partners participated in a panel discussion about social media during the recent 2015 Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA) Annual Meeting at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort on June 18-21.
The firm’s Robert E. Cooper, along with Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge John E. Ott (Northern District of Alabama) and Tony McClain, the General Counsel of the Alabama State Bar Association, were panelists in a discussion during the meeting’s Alabama CLE Session on “Ethics Pertaining to Social Media with Parties, Witnesses, Jurors/Jury Selection.” Christian & Small’s Sharon D. Stuart, who currently serves on ADLA’s Board of Directors and chairs its Amicus Curiae Committee, moderated the panel discussion.
ADLA’s mission is to bring together lawyers in Alabama who devote a substantial amount of their professional time to the handling of civil defense cases – facilitating among members the exchange of information, ideas, techniques and court rulings related to the handling of civil defense litigation. These exchanges are intended to improve the skills of civil defense lawyers and elevate the standards of trial practice.
ADLA also seeks to encourage high standards of trial practice in conjunction with similar associations in other legal areas, including developing and securing court adoption or approval of a high standard code of trial conduct and courtroom manners. In general, it supports and encourages an increase in the quantity and quality of the service and contributions the legal profession provides to the community, state and nation.
