Steven A. Benefield was voted into membership as a Fellow  of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, during the Board of Regents annual meeting.

The College is an organization of more than 2,600 trust and estate lawyers and law professors who have been elected by their peers in recognition of having made outstanding contributions to the practice of estate and trust law.

The substantive areas of expertise and experience represented in the College include estate planning, probate and estate and trust administration, protective intervention and guardianship administration, transfer tax laws, income tax laws that affect individuals and trusts, elder law, charitable planning, employee benefit planning, and fiduciary litigation.
