Partner Kenneth O. Simon was named a finalist in the Birmingham Business Journal’s inaugural 2013 Outstanding Directors Award honorees for his work with Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School. Read the full BBJ profile at BBJ Outstanding Directors.
The award is aimed at honoring directors whose service to their boards has been exceptional. Ken’s work with Holy Family certainly meets this criteria.
Ken serves on the board of Holy Family, a national organization that turns inner city high school students into entry-level employees for local organizations through training and sharing “shifts.” Students earn their tuition by working and gaining experience in a professional setting.
According to Ken, “Instead of relying on scholarships, the student has skin in the game. Education is a lifelong thing with me, and I’ve been drawn to organizations that promote education, particularly to kids at risk.”
It is an honor and a privilege to work with Ken.
