Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush recently visited Birmingham’s Brookwood Medical Center and toured its new women’s facility and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where he met Raiford Montgomery (“Ford”) and William Whitfield (“Whit”) Macklem – Christian & Small Partner Jonathan W. Macklem and his wife Elizabeth’s twins.
Bush, who is on the board of directors for Tenet Healthcare, was in town for a speaking engagement, and Ford and Whit, who were born at 25 weeks on July 1 (106 days early), were selected to host the governor during his NICU tour. The twins have overcome many obstacles in the months since their birth and continue to make tremendous strides daily.
