The law firm of Christian & Small is pleased to announce Thomas “Tom” Krebs has joined the firm as its newest Partner. Krebs, the former Director of the Alabama Securities Commission, will lead and expand the firm’s Securities Practice Group. Most recently, he has been working in Washington D.C. as Senior Counsel to the House Financial Services Committee. Prior to his time with HFSC, he served as Assistant Director and Deputy General Counsel of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, where he spearheaded many of the investigations arising out of the financial crisis.

Krebs brings a wealth of information and experience to Christian & Small as a leader in Securities Regulation, Finance and Business Law. Krebs has argued numerous landmark cases before the Supreme Court of Alabama in which the Securities Act of Alabama received a broad and liberal interpretation. Krebs also represented the Alabama Securities Commission in testimony before various committees of the State Legislature and the United States Congress. In 1978, Krebs co-founded the Leviticus Project, a six-state, sixteen agency task force organized to investigate and prosecute crime in the coal industry. Krebs has often served as an expert witness in securities law cases.
