The firm has formed a special practice group known as the Alabama Immigration Act Task Force.  The purpose of the task force is to advise Alabama and out-of-state businesses on compliance issues arising out of the new Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act.  This Act has been described as the nation’s toughest immigration law.  Most provisions of the Act became effective September 1, 2011.  Other provisions will become effective over the next several months.
